My Favorite Things for Back-to-Business Season

I love me some office supplies…

Once the backpacks are packed and the buses start rolling, something magical happens… my brain goes straight into “new year” mode — except it’s August, not January. Back-to-school isn’t just for kids. It’s the perfect excuse for entrepreneurs to reset, refresh, and get new office supplies!

Here are a few of my favorite things to start the “year” off right:

1. A Fresh Planner or Digital Calendar Upgrade

There’s just something about opening a brand-new planner that makes me want to color-code my life. I’m loving [Planner Name or Digital Tool] because it keeps me organized without turning me into a full-on scheduling robot.

My Commit30 Planner is my Go To for Weekly Planning.

But of course, EVERYTHING from Paper Source is my favorite.

2. Pretty Office Supplies That Make Me Want to Work

Yes, I will absolutely work harder if my paper clips are rose gold and my pens are gel perfection. Right now I’m obsessed with [favorite pens, notebook, sticky notes]. Check out a collection of my curated faves.

3. A “Workday” Uniform

Back-to-school means I ditch the “work-from-home in yesterday’s sweatshirt” look and pull out my comfy-but-cute staples. Think [favorite leggings, cardigans, or Vuori joggers] that feel put-together without sacrificing comfort.

A Morning Ritual Refresh

The kids aren’t the only ones who benefit from a consistent start time. My current ritual: coffee after breakfast (blood sugar friendly!), a quick brain dump in my notebook, and 10 minutes of focused planning. Game changer.

My Go-To Business Tools

Fall is when I love to audit my tech stack. Right now, my ride-or-die tools are:

A Fall Scent for My Workspace

Because nothing says “let’s crush this to-do list” like a candle that smells like…salt.

I love my Joanna Gaines SALT scented candle (it doesn’t really smell like salt to me but I love it anyway!)

Back-to-school isn’t just about sharpened pencils and lunchboxes — it’s about re-focusing on the things that make your workday feel smooth, inspiring, and maybe even a little luxurious. Here’s to your most productive fall yet.

Playing small is sneaky. It sounds like, “I don’t need to make that much money” or “I’ll be happy if I just hit six figures.” It’s downplaying your expertise so you don’t seem like a know-it-all, or saying yes to projects that drain you because you don’t want to seem picky. For years, I thought shrinking back made me safe, likable, easy to have around. But it didn’t—it just kept me stuck in a box that was way too small for me.

For years, my work ethic was so tied to my identity I couldn’t see where one ended and the other began. I wore the grind like a badge—until I realized it was quietly erasing me.
