Money is weird. It doesn’t seem like it should be. At its simplest form, money is a tool of exchange used to facilitate transactions. It represents value and allows us to trade goods and services without the need for direct bartering.

Ever since I could make money, I spent beyond my means. I’ve always worked really hard so I could never really understand why I was constantly behind on bills; I should have been rolling in it. And over the years I have made sure that was the perception, within reason of course. I’m nothing if not Midwest Nice and would never want anyone to feel ‘less than’ around me.

For three full days I struggled with listening to and caring for myself versus disappointing someone else. I’ll be honest here, and this is embarrassing, I thought of many lies I could have told her that would have ‘forgiven’ me; illness that would have let me off the hook. But what kind of self-care coach would I be if I did that?

As we navigate through the various stages of life, we often encounter moments of introspection and self-reflection. One common phenomenon that we experience is often referred to as a “midlife crisis.” This is not uncommon after the death of someone as close as a parent but there are many other situations that have us questioning our purpose here; empty nests, career and work changes, relationship shifts, infidelity, traumatic accidents or revelations, etc. But it also doesn’t have to be anything dramatic. Age can simply be the reason we start questioning our existence. It’s essential to delve deeper into this concept to understand whether it’s genuinely a crisis or simply a natural part of the human journey.

Anxiety. Burnout. Unproductivity. Sleeplessness. Overwhelm. I’m certain that every entrepreneur and business owner has undoubtedly encountered these emotions while managing their business ventures. I can definitely admit I did. Consequently, as a seasoned entrepreneur, one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned is the significance of establishing boundaries to shield myself from these emotions and to savor both my personal and professional life.

My Top 10 Self-Development book list that created the life I live today. I took something profound from each one of these books reading them over and over again.

I’m here for the dreamers: for the ones that want to make a change. For the people just sick and tired of being sick and tired. For the ready, the determined, the fearful, the anxious, the non-believers. For the people that desperately want a life of freedom, contentment, and peace but just don’t know where to start, or what they want to do, or how they’ll get to wherever it is they are going.

I have loved the number 8 for most of my adult life, but more recently it’s shown me signs of prosperity, trust and wisdom I cannot ignore.

I could go on and on about the freaky times 8 has popped up in my life, but I’ll spare you the very long list but two variations rock me to my core:

108 and 808.

I’ve never really written this story down, told it many times but never in quite the detail I’m about to. Having sold real estate for a time in my twenties, browsing real estate has always been a passion of mine and when this property hit the MLS, I was, shall we say, intrigued.

My anxiety was not totally unfounded. It’s a big deal “coming out” to a world of drinkers; especially since for so long (so long) drinking has just been part of my identity. And, shall we recognize the elephant here? We do own a wine bar, which ironically was dreamed up and put in to motion during my first 90 days of sobriety a few years ago.

I’ve drank pretty much concurrently, with the exception of pregnancies and the bouts of sobriety you’ll read on here, since I was 13. It was fun, then it was O.K. then it was just plain destructive. I had a physical health scare, on top of the decades of mental health scares, in late August and I decided enough was enough.

You’ll find me to be a vibrant and unapologetic woman who wholeheartedly embraces the Law of Attraction, isn’t afraid to drop the f-bomb when needed, and loves with everything I’ve got. I’m all about proving that the impossible is possible, especially when others say it can’t be done. My passion is empowering women in midlife to live authentically, boldly, and without apology. If you’re ready to break free from societal expectations and pursue your ambitions with confidence, you’re in the right place.
