Somewhere around 100 days, something shifted for me.
I stopped thinking so much about what I couldn't have and started noticing everything I'd gained.
Better sleep. Less anxiety. More energy. Clear mornings. And, eventually, a life I genuinely preferred.
Sobriety felt like something I had to protect. Alcohol-free feels like something I get to enjoy.
There's no finish line here and no prescribed timeline. This is simply where I'm collecting everything I've written about actually living alcohol-free, from identity and relationships to NA beer, favorite things, celebrations, travel, and all the weird little parts nobody tells you about.
Start wherever you are.
Not drinking stopped feeling like something I was constantly doing.
It just became how I lived.
I wasn't waking up every morning congratulating myself for not drinking the night before.
I wasn't spending every evening negotiating with myself.
I wasn't constantly thinking about what I was missing.
The question slowly changed from:
How am I going to live without alcohol?
to:
What do I want to do with this life now that alcohol isn't running so much of it?
That's what this phase is about.
Not simply staying sober.
Building an alcohol-free life you actually enjoy.
